Century Pro XL bag is good, but
by: grandmaster Torok

Hit the bag for a while. it doesn't take much to loosen the locking mechanism. The inner tube gaskets help. The locking mechanism can break if you keep beating the bag while the ring is loose. try hitting it evenly from left and right sides to help keep it tight. Also, the filling opening could be larger. Try finding dry-enough sand to be able to pour into it. I'd give the bag a 4 out of 5 stars.

Great Buy!!!!

This product is great!!! The lock in system provides excellent stability and the foam this time around is a lot more dense which allows you to strike hard without the bag giving way. I grade this an A+

feedback on xxlpro

We haven't had any problems with the lock nut except that it doesn't stay locked. Of course, if you beat the heck out of tha bag full contact for a long time, stuff breaks. Probably the locknut on the XLs breaks because it gets loose. On the XLPro, use a rubber gasket like part of an inner tube to keep the nut tight. that should help redeuce the friction of the hitting and keep it tight longer.

What about the lock nut?
by: Anonymous

We have issues with the lock nuts cracking along the seam on the Wavemaster XXLs and have to keep spare lock nuts in stock so we can replace them as the brake. Otherwise, it is not a fun experience...the bag gets extremely wobbly. Have you experienced the same problems with the old bags, and how are the lock nuts different on the new ones?

WAVEMASTER 2XL PRO REVIEW
by: grandmaster torok

The wavemaster 2xl pro is a definite improvement over the old models. The denser foam is nice, as is the tapered base. The wide base is actually nice because you have to angle out when coming in for close hits. The bag still slides but there is not much that can be done about that unless the base is blocked in. All floor model bags slide and for some techniques it can be considered to be a feature. The trick is to also have hanging bags if the ceiling permits. We have ours up against a padded wall for single use but with two or more persons hitting one bag, they can be rolled out on the floor and as long as one partner is not much stronger than the other, the bag can stay in place with the hits. There is not much that can be done to add more weight without making the base unduly bulky. Having said the aforementioned, Century can still improve on the bags with a positive locking mechanism on the base. The bag still tends to loosen with harder hits, but not nearly as bad as the old ones. They only loosen counterclockwise when hit from the left, like with a hook or round kick and it does tighten when hit from the right. However, one should not have to alter a routine just to please the bag. On the model with the scoring zones, Century should put numbers on the back as well as the current ones on the three sides. thus if the bag rotates, scoring zones are still available without having to stop and turn the bag. On a minor cosmetic point, the scoring bags should also come in colors besides black.
