Ninja Assassin Martial Arts Movie Poster

The Ninja Assassin martial arts movie is scheduled to release on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2009. I have seen several trailers on tv and the internet and it looks promising.

Ninja Assassin is directed by James McTeigue and is starring Korean pop star 'Rain'. This martial arts film was produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers (of Kill Bill fame). Filming for Ninja Assassin took place in Berlin, Germany.

Wikipedia Synopis of Ninja Assassin is as follows:

"Raizo (Rain) is one of the world's deadliest assassins, having been kidnapped as a child and raised by the Ozunu Clan, believed by the world to be a myth. When Raizo's friend is executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. He later reemerges, seeking revenge.

Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more.

The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo. Hiding in Europe, Raizo and Mika must find a way to take down the Ozunu Clan."
There hasn't been a good martial arts movie about the Ninja Warrior in some time. It will be interesting to see if this one can become such a martial arts film.

According to bloody-disgusting.com - "James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin is so gory it surpasses that of the legendary Kill Bill Vol. 1."

Let that serve as a warning to Parents this martial arts movie does carry an R rating and stands to be very gory.

I personally enjoyed the Kill Bill series and hope this martial arts film can live up to the action, story line and martial arts cinema of previous project the Wachowski brothers have worked on.

I was able to locate a few Ninja Assassin Trailers. I'm not sure I will get a chance to watch this when it comes out in theaters, but we would all enjoy hearing your thoughts on this Ninja Warrior based martial arts movie.
