Chemical Based Non Lethal Weapon Technology

Non lethal chemical weapon technology is most recognized in its most common form, defense sprays. These sprays can be used for Riot control by local law enforcement or as a means of personal self defense.

      Defense Sprays can be..

        Irritants
        Lachrymators
        Malodorants

Irritants can be delivered in the form of CN, CS and CR gases. Non lethal self defense chemical weapons can also be delivered in the form of OC or PAVA.

CN gas causes a flow of tears and itching skin.

CS gas causes a heavy flow of tears, respiratory discomfort, coughing, stinging, or burning on moist skin, sinus irritation.

CR is the strongest variant of these gases.

Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) also known as “pepper spray” is a naturally occurring irritant compound produced from pepper plants.

PAVA is a synthetic version of OC and offers Increased potency.

lachrymators are gases that make the eyes fill with tears, but does not damage them. It is commonly used to disperse crowds.

Malodorants are still in development. They are basically foul-smelling concoctions.

Although a foul order may cause you to moan, groan, or even run screaming the other way, they do not cause any physiological harm.

Unlike many other non lethal weapons, such as tear gas or pepper spray, which can cause bronchial irritation.

        Malodorants are essentially harmless.

As you can see there are many different types of non lethal weapon technologies. Yet, in order for them to be effective in their task, you must learn where to target with each specific non lethal device.
